If you own a property within the Village at Copper, and you rent the property on your own or use a property management company such as VRBO, Resort Quest, etc., you are subject to a 3% Village at Copper sales assessment.  To view the Village at Copper covenants pertaining to this assessment, click here  They are in section 6.05 page 30.     Many homeowners who rent their property add the 3% to the rental price as a pass through charge.  Resolution and Policy regarding Sales Assessments (Presumptive Surcharge)

The Village Documents state that the 3% surcharge payments should be made monthly. Typically, the payment submitted to the Village is made at the same time as the tax payments to the State of Colorado. Because many lodging companies and individual homeowners file State tax reports on a quarterly basis, we will also accept quarterly reports and payments. Whichever method works best for you.

Copies of the forms that need to be submitted to the Village with your 3% payment. One is if you choose to pay monthly, the other is if you choose to pay quarterly.   Click on the appropriate link for the form.

Monthly payments are due by the 20th of the month following. For example, January's report and payment would be due by February 20th.

Quarterly payments will be due by the 20th of the month following the close of the quarter:

1st Quarter/January-March: Report due April 20th
